Youth V8


Drivers must be between ages 11 – 16 year and need to have a signed consent waiver by parents or guardians to participate. Drivers 11-14 must have an adult passenger. Drivers 15-16 years old will have the option to ride by themselves or with a passenger. Drivers who show no control over their vehicle will be shut off. Drivers must furnish his/her own car. All drivers and pit crew must sign a liability waiver and purchase a pit pass before entering the pit area or track. All drivers must attend the driver’s meeting prior to race time. No drugs or alcohol will be permitted in the pit area. Any person in the pit area suspected to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs will not be allowed to compete and will be asked to leave. NO REFUND. Unsportsmanlike conduct from drivers or spectators could result in ban or suspension from event/events.

Cars Permitted:

.Any year car midsize/full size class No four-wheel drives, limos Imperials or hearses will be allowed. Vehicle must remain factory other than the modifications specified below.

STOCK MEANS STOCK! IF IT DOESN’T SAY IT IN THE RULES DON’T DO IT!
These vehicles are to be considered stock unless specifically mentioned in these rules. No altering, swapping, welding, or manipulating parts unless specifically mentioned.

Safety:

Drivers and passenger are required to wear a DOT approved helmet and safety glasses or goggles.
Drivers must wear full length pants. Must wear footwear that completely covers feet. Please also wear gloves for hand protection. Safety is our first priority while on the grounds. There will be zero tolerance of any unsafe acts. Misconduct of a driver or crew member can disqualify the driver and car from the event. All decisions of the judges are final.
Drivers must hit a live vehicle every 60 seconds.

Stripping Vehicles:

ALL unnecessary glass, plastic, chrome moldings, carpet, mirrors, emblems, and flammable materials shall be removed. No broken windows in doors. All cars must be clean and free of loose debris in the drivers compartment and the trunk. All airbags MUST be completely removed. Drain all air conditioners. All associated rubber hoses must be cut or removed prior to arrival at the track. All trailer/towing hitches must be removed.

ALL AIR BAGS MUST BE REMOVED!!!


Car appearance:

Each car needs their own distinct number where it can easily be read in contrasting colors. Roof sign recommended for individual number.

Cages & Driver Protection:

A 4 point cage is required.
Must have door bars and cross bars.
Factory dash may be removed.
All cage bars must be 5 inches from the floor.
Side bars may not be longer than 5 foot.
No down bars to the floor.
Cages are intended for safety, not to reinforce the car.
Halos will be allowed, given the vertical bars do not extend more than 6 inches past the horizontal roof bar. No outside door bars.

DRIVERS DOOR PROTECTION:

● You may reinforce the interior driver’s door with any material you want.
● May not be attached to a frame or subframe.
● May be mounted or welded to the floor.
● Exterior driver’s door may be skinned over. 3 inch over hang of door seam max.

Drivers door hits happen! Protect yourself!!!

Fuel cell/factory tank:

Must have a fuel cell.
Stock tanks must be removed. NO FACTORY GAS TANKS.
No Jerry cans, gas cans or plastic tanks as fuel tanks.
No factory tanks inside of car.
Must use fuel injection rated hose on fuel injected cars.
Must be mounted in back seat area or to the cage.
No rubber tie downs or zip ties.
No zip screws will be permitted.
Must be bolted or chained in place and must not move.
If mounting to floor, fuel cell cannot be attached to cage.
Fuel lines must be ran in a safe manner and be protected from cutting or crushing.
Maximum capacity of fuel cell permitted is 10 gallons.
Electric fuel pump must have a kill switch that is clearly marked.
Any fuel leaks will disqualify cars from participating. Please use secure leak proof fittings and good hose clamps and make sure they are tight. As mentioned above, safety is our first priority.

Gas tank protector:

Protectors must attach to CAGE ONLY. Protector will be no larger 30” outside measurement and made of no larger than 4”x ¼ inch material. 8-inch gussets made of 2”x2 max can be used on the protector. This is a FLOATING style protector. Bars may not go to the halo or frame and must not be welded or bolted to floor, frame or sheet metal.

Battery:

2 Batteries max.
May be moved inside to the rear floorboard.
Batteries must be in a secure box and be covered (No metal covers).
No plastic battery box allowed.
We recommend metal battery boxes be bolted to the floor with no smaller then 3/8 inch bolts and
washers.

Brakes & Steering:

A working hydraulic brake system is required.
You must exhibit the ability to stop.
Anyone losing their brakes during an event will be disqualified.
Do not reinforce the steering rack or steering box.

Aftermarket pedals may be used.

Tires & Rims:

Tires must be air filled only.
No liquid or concrete filled tires.
No studded tires.
Any ply rating allowed.
Doubled tires will be allowed.
All wheel weights must be removed, including on the inside of the wheels.
No valve stem protectors.
No bead locks, no rim guards.
Only modifications permitted will be full weld in centers and narrowed rims.
No other modifications of the rim.

Body & Frame:

Stock- Do not touch or weld body mounts or sub frame mounts.
No frame modifications.

NO TILTING OR PREBENDING INCLUDING COLD TILT. If you do you will be loaded.

You may notch and/or dimple rear frame notch cannot be welded. No undercoating or painting of frames.

NO REPLACEMENT CRUSH BOXES.

You cannot chain or wire the humps.

No stuffed frames of any kind.
Front Fame may be shortened to core support and hard nosed with 1- 6”x6”x1/4” plate per side to cap the end of the rail.
For bumper mounting purposes only.
If this is done no bumper shock may be used.

You may crease original body lines on rear quarters however Quarters must remain vertical and in original position. NO CANOEING, Sedagoning OR WEDGING!

Sunroof hole must be covered and secured with the same thickness of metal as the roof.

You may do make to make body swap however body and frame must remain 1980+ and you cannot relocate and must reuse all existing frame body mounting locations Wheel wells may be trimmed for clearance however re-attachment should be no stronger than factory. You may use up to (5) 5/16”

Body mounts:

Only 4 extra 1/2″ maximum with washers that are free floating maximum size is 3/16” by 5″. All body bolts may be changed to 1/2″ maximum size bolts. All other body mounts and tabs must remain in the factory position. Body spacers may remain factory (if they do no altering to spacer or internal sleeve) or you can replace with hockey pucks must have minimum and maximum of 1” space between body and frame. The very front spacer ONLY may be replaced with a steel spacer up to 2” hollow round or 2”x2” hollow square material maximum of 4” long. The mounts at the firewall may be a MAX of 2” using a stacked hockey puck or 2”x2” steel. You CAN NOT weld to the body or frame in this location. NO PLATES! front two bolts may be changed to 1″ and run up thru the hood and be two extra hood mounts must be just all thread up thru core support after the 4″ spacer these will count as 2 of 6 hood mounting locations. Body mount washers may be up to 5”x5”x1/4”.

Windshield bars:

Must have windshield bars.

2”x2”x1/4″ max may go from Halo to dash bar. May not be in front of dash bar may be bolted to roof in 2 spots(1 bolt per spot) ½” bolt max. If opting out of the heavy front bar You MUST install two safety straps from the body area behind the hood no more than 2″ below the windshield line and no more than 2” above windshield line to the roof of the car to keep the hood from coming backwards through the windshield area. Front WINDOW bars, straps are to be a thinner material. 

Rear Window Bars:

 Rear window bars- 6″x6″x1/4″ mounting plates 2”x2” max size bar can be welded to the halo and must go down and be centered over the trunk/speaker deck seam only cannot be attached to anything else. Must be 1” space minimum between rear window bar and tank protector.

Hood:

Hood must have at least an 8″ x 8” hole near the center for fire personnel access.

You may use #9wire, chain or 2”x2”angle iron max 4” long. (3) spots of per side MAX. 6 spots total.

    • Hood may be secured in a total of 6 places of your choice
      ● Chain (3⁄8” max)
      ● #9 wire
      • Angle Iron – 2″x2″x4″

You may use 1” all thread through front core mount up through hood. If using this option it counts as 2 of 6 spots. All thread may not be sleeved. Has to be in factory core support mount location.

Hood must be able to be opened for inspection.
Factory Hood latch must be removed.
Car must have a hood.

Doors/Trunk:

May have a total of 6 places combination of your choice on each panel by chain, #9wire or 3″x3″x1/4″ plate.
Only the drivers door may be fully welded.
● # 9 wire (3 strand max)
● Chain ⅜ max

    • 3″x3″x1/8″

Trunks may be tucked.
Do not canoe the trunk.

OEM Bumpers:

Any factory OEM car bumper maybe loaded and seam welded.

Bumpers can not be wider then outside side wall of tires / body of car.

Bumper heights — bottom of front bumper  22″- 24″ bottom of rear bumper 14″- 16″ 

Bumpers front and rear MUST be chained ¼ inch chain to frame or 9 wire two strands to body in 2 locations and must be tight.
No dog chain.
Must be done for inspection. We do not want bumpers coming off.

Manufactured / Homemade Bumpers:

Maybe loaded.

Must fit with in the dimensions of 8” X 8”.

Can not be wider then 8” from mounting point of frame to bumper point.

Point must be spread over 32”.

Bumpers can not be wider then outside side wall of tires / body of car.

Manufactured / Homemade bumpers for rear of car must be no larger then 8″x8″ and can not have a point. 

Bumper heights — bottom of front bumper  22″- 24″ bottom of rear bumper 14″- 16″

locations and must be tight.

Must be done for inspection. We do not want bumpers coming off.

Bumper Mounting:

(1) Bumper may be welded to stock mount brackets for that vehicle, NO EXCEPTIONS and shock brackets welded only to prevent collapse. Brackets must be attached to frame with the factory mounting method.

(2) you may use a piece of flat steel max 4”x1/4”x12” may run from bumper to no farther than 12” back.

Again, you must remove all factory shocks and brackets if using this option.

If this is done no bumper shock may be used.

No homemade shocks, no extending of factory shocks, or brackets. NO PLATING. 

Cars without bumpers must have no projecting mounts or frame projections, bumperettes must be removed.

All bumper mounting must be EXTERNAL only. Nothing can be done inside of frame!!

Engines, Transmissions:

Swaps between manufacturers is ok.

Homemade mounts ok up to 2×2” hollow material. Mount must be bolted or welded to k member. Must not strengthen the frame in any way.

Lower cradle(front plate style is ok) is allowed with a maximum thickness of 5/8”.

You may use Aluminum ultrabell.

Factory trans crossmember must be used. You may use a 4” long piece on 3”x3” angle iron welded to frame on each side to relocate transmission crossmember and bolt trans crossmember farther back when doing an engine/trans swap. This can be no farther than 12” from the factory mount and crossmember must be bolted not welded to tabs.

You also must use a factory style transmission mount from trans to crossmember. Crossmember may be altered at mounting point to allow other manufacturer trans to attach in factory manner. 03+ fords may use bolt in style engine mounting saddle. Must retain factory aluminum crossmember and steering. Must be a gap between cradle and frame. No other crossmember will be allowed in these other than factory or this style. NO WELDING!

Shifting method may be altered.
Electronics may be relocated.
Stacks will be permitted.
Exhaust underneath the car will be permitted. Must extend past the driver’s seat.
Water only in the cooling system. Please drain antifreeze prior to arrival at the track.
Electric fans only. Fans may not be mounted on the hood.
No engine mounted fans permitted. All engine cooling fans must be under the hood.
Trans coolers may be relocated under hood or in the back seat area. Must be completely covered.
Some type of air cleaner must be used.

Aftermarket Parts NOT ALLOWED:

NO PULLEY PROTECTOR

NO DISTRIBUTOR  PROTECTOR

NO FULL CRADLE

NO MID PLATE

NO CARB PROTECTOR

NO TRANS BRACE

NO STEEL  BELL

NO STEEL TAIL

Steering:

Any style column may be used. must be factory steering components for that car. (rack, gear box, tie rods, center link, etc). You may weld your tie rod sleeves to the tie rod using a piece of small angle iron.

Front Sway bar-may be removed, or you can remove rubber bushings and bolt solid to both frame and control arms, but it may NOT be welded to engine cradle or frame.

Lock Suspension For Ride Height Purposes:

Rear You may use up to 1” all thread to set ride height. it must run from rear and go straight up and down through package tray. must stop at floor and cannot go any higher or be bolted through anything else. cannot touch the frame rails whatsoever. Cannot hold body to package tray body must be cut around them.

FRONT You may lock front suspension with torsion adjustment(if applicable) , (2) pieces of 2”x2”x1/4” (per upper a arm) welded from control arm to frame or chain going over top of a-arm welded to frame (5/16” max). Can only be welded by 2 links on frame each end or you may use one piece of up to 2×2” material from top of lower control arm to bottom of frame. MUST NOT ATTACH TO SIDE OF FRAME. You may use 1″ all thread in place of front shocks. Nothing else!!!

Fix it plates:

Fix it plates may be a maximum of 4”x6”x1/4”. plates and welds cannot touch must have ¼” gap between welds . Must be mounted flat on outside of frame. No pinning with plates . Maximum of 8 total on any car. Fresh cars may also have up to 8 fix it plates. You get 8 total!!! Use them wisely. All plates must be painted RED. If you make plates smaller than 4×6 you do not get to use that material elsewhere.

You get 8 total.

6 cross member forward and 2 behind the cross member 

#9Wire:

You may use 4 extra spots of #9 Wire(4 strands) May not go from frame to halo or from frame to cage.

Patching and rust repair to body and/or frame will be allowed only if cleared in advance. You may be required to show before and after photos of any repairs. Please contact Ryan Fisher 570-764-5440  with any questions on this topic.
