Bent Metal Motorsports Full Size VAN, TRUCK & SUV
Drivers must be at least 16 years of age. 16 and 17 year old need to have a signed consent waiver by parents or guardians to participate. Drivers must furnish his/her own car. All drivers and pit crew must sign a liability waiver and purchase a pit pass before entering the pit area or track. All drivers must attend the driver’s meeting prior to race time. No drugs or alcohol will be permitted in the pit area. Any person in the pit area suspected to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs will not be allowed to compete and will be asked to leave. NO REFUNDS. Unsportsmanlike conduct from drivers or spectators could result in ban or suspension from event/events.
Full size Vans Permitted:
Any factory passenger full size van. Must be 2WD. All AWD or 4WD vans need to remove one drive shaft to make it 2wd.
No heavy cargo or commercial vans. Please call if unsure.
Trucks/Suv Permitted:
Any full size 1/2 or 3/4 ton pickup truck or Suv Must be 2WD. All AWD or 4WD vehicles need to remove one drive shaft to make it 2wd. No utility or commercial style beds. All trucks must have a bed. No dual wheeled trucks!
These vehicles are to be considered stock unless specifically mentioned in these rules. No altering, swapping, welding, or manipulating parts unless specifically mentioned.
Drivers must hit a live vehicle every 60 seconds.
Safety:
Drivers are required to wear a DOT approved helmet and safety glasses or goggles. Drivers must wear full length pants. Must wear footwear that completely covers feet. Please also wear gloves for hand protection. Safety is our first priority while on the grounds. There will be zero tolerance of any unsafe acts. Misconduct of a driver or crew member can disqualify the driver and car from the event. All decisions of the judges are final.
Stripping Vehicles:
ALL unnecessary glass, plastic, chrome moldings, carpet, mirrors, emblems, and flammable materials shall be removed. No broken windows in doors. All cars must be clean and free of loose debris in the drivers compartment and the trunk. All airbags MUST be completely removed. Drain all air conditioners. All associated rubber hoses must be cut or removed prior to arrival at the track. All trailer/towing hitches must be removed.
ALL AIR BAGS MUST BE REMOVED!!!
Van/Truck/Suv appearance:
Van/Truck/Suv needs its own distinct number where it can easily be read in contrasting colors. Roof sign recommended.
Cages & Driver Protection:
Factory dash may be removed.
You MUST have a seat bar from B post to B post as a MINIMUM.
All cage bars must be 5 inches from the floor.
Side bars may not extend past the seat bar by 1 foot.
No down bars to the floor. (exception drivers door)`
Cages are intended for safety, not to reinforce the car.
Halos will be allowed, given the vertical bars do not extend more than 4 inches past the horizontal roof bar.
A center bar is allowed for mounting shifter and switches ect.
No outside door bars.
DRIVERS DOOR PROTECTION:
You may reinforce the interior driver’s door with any material you want.
May not be attached to a frame or subframe.
May be mounted or welded to the floor.
Exterior driver’s door may be skinned over. 3 inch over hang of door seam max.
Drivers door hits happen! Protect yourself!!!
Fuel cell/factory tank:
Stock tanks permitted as long as they are forward of rear wheels. Factory tank under car must be chained or 9 wired in 2 spots around tank and floor
No Jerry cans, gas cans or plastic tanks as fuel tanks.
No factory tanks inside of the vehicle.
Fuel cells are recommended.
Must use fuel injection rated hose on fuel injected cars.
Must be mounted in the back seat area or to the cage.
No rubber tie downs or zip ties.
No zip screws will be permitted.
Must be bolted or chained in place and must not move.
If mounted to the floor, the fuel cell cannot be attached to the cage.
Factory tank must be removed if running the fuel cell.
Fuel lines must be run in a safe manner and be protected from cutting or crushing. Maximum capacity of the fuel cell permitted is 10 gallons.
Electric fuel pump must have a kill switch that is clearly marked.
Any fuel leaks will disqualify cars from participating. Please use secure leak proof fittings and good hose clamps and make sure they are tight.
All fuel tanks should be covered with a rubber mat, a metal cover, or both. As mentioned above, safety is our first priority.
Truck fuel tanks:
Trucks must have the stock tank removed and have a fuel cell mounted securely in the bed at the most forward part of the box directly behind the cab and be covered.
Gas tank Protector:
Can use up to 4 inch diameter material for the protector.
Protector must be 5 inches off the floor and may not be wider than 24”.
Protector cannot be longer than 36 inches.
Measured from the back of the driver seat. Protector cannot be welded to any sheet metal.
Batteries:
A limit of two batteries will be permitted. Batteries may be moved inside to the passenger side floorboard. Batteries must be in a secure box and be covered (No metal covers). No plastic battery box allowed. We recommend metal battery boxes be bolted to the floor with no smaller then 3/8 inch bolts and washers.
Brakes & Steering:
A working hydraulic brake system is required. You must exhibit the ability to stop. Anyone losing their brakes during an event will be disqualified.
Steering wheel to steering rack may be modified.
Do not reinforce the steering rack or steering box.
Tie rods may be welded or reinforced.
Tires & Rims:
Drive tires must be air filled only.
No liquid or concrete filled tires.
No studded tires.
Any ply rating allowed.
Doubled tires will be allowed.
All wheel weights must be removed, including on the inside of the wheels.
Rims may be modified. Metal sidewall protectors OK
Body & Frame:
May be changed up to 1” diameter with 3”x3”x ¼ washers and maybe welded fast to body or frame.
Body spacers maybe replaced with hockey pucks or 2″x2″ tubing.
Only front two core support bolts may extend through the hood.
Body bolts may only be bolted on the top side of the frame rail.
No additional body mounts may be added.
No frame modifications.
No stuffed frames of any kind.
Do not “enhance” or crease body lines.
Sunroof hole must be covered and secured with the same thickness of metal as the roof. Front Frame may be seam welded first 12” from the end of the frame back.
Frame/Fit it plates:
1- 5”x12”x ¼ per frame rail may be used for bumper mounting and must touch the bumper.
2- 6”x6”x ¼ ”fix it” plates per frame rail may be on fresh or preran vehicles.
No additional plate may be used. No overlapping of any plates.
Hood:
Hood must have at least an 8″ x 8” hole near the center for fire personnel access. Hood may be secured in a total of 8 places of your choice –
– Chain (3⁄8” max)
– #9 wire
Hood must be able to be opened for inspection.
Factory Hood latch must be removed.
Must have a hood.
Doors/Trunk/Tailgate:
May be full seam welded
3” wide x ¼ straps max
No interior seams may be welded.
Truck bed / Cab:
Cab to bed may be fully welded with 6″wide x 1⁄4” plate
Windshield bars:
For drivers safety, 2 bars or 1 inch flat bar strapping must be mounted vertically from firewall to roof over the windshield area. Windshield bars must be bolted or welded to sheet metal or extend to halo.
No rear window bars.
OEM Bumpers:
Any factory OEM car bumper maybe loaded and seam welded.
Bumpers can not be wider then outside side wall of tires / body of truck
Bumpers front and rear MUST be chained 3/8 inch chain or 9 wire two strands in 2 locations and must be tight. No dog chain.
We do not want bumpers coming off.
No plastic/ fiberglass bumpers.
Manufactured / Home Made Bumpers:
Maybe loaded.
Must fit with in the dimensions of 8” X 8”.
Can not be wider then 8” from mounting point of frame to bumper point.
Point must be spread over 32”.
Bumpers can not be wider then outside side wall of tires / body of car.
Bumpers front and rear MUST be chained 3/8 inch chain or 9 wire two strands in 2 locations and must be tight. No dog chain.
We do not want bumpers coming off.
No plastic/ fiberglass bumpers.
Bumper shocks/mounting Plates:
Any OEM stock shock may be used in a stock manner.
Shocks may be compressed and welded.
Shock plate may be welded to the frame.
6”x6”x ¼ plate one per side may be used to cap the end of the frame rail.
Engines, Transmissions, Drive shafts:
Any Engine & Transmission combination may be used!
Front plate lower cradles with pulley protector permitted.
Aftermarket gas pedals permitted.
Slider driveshafts permitted.
Shifting method may be altered. Aftermarket shifters allowed.
Engine mounts may be secured in any way that does not strengthen the car or any other component. Electronics may be relocated.
NO BRACES of any kind for transmission.
NO steel bell housings or aftermarket bell housings, no steel tail shaft.
Transmission tunnel must be covered.
Transmission cross member may be welded in place.
Homemade cross member can be used but must be no larger than 2″× 2″ sq tube.
May be attached from rail to rail with 1) 2”x2”x6″long angle iron (must face inward towards transmission)
Center of cross member may be modified for trans mount.
Engine and transmission may be chained with a 3/8 chain.
Stacks will be permitted.
Exhaust underneath the car will be permitted. Must extend past the driver’s seat.
Water only in the cooling system. Please drain antifreeze prior to arrival at the track.
No engine mounted fans permitted. Electric fans only.
All engine cooling fans must be under the hood. Fans may not be mounted on the hood.
Transmission coolers may be relocated under hood or in the back seat area.
Some type of air cleaner must be used.
Suspension/Rears:
Must remain STOCK.
Front springs may be stiffened with clamps, spacers or 1” rod. Do not pipe or alter strut. Do not reinforce A-arms or trailing arms.
Strut bars may be used from strut tower to strut tower in the front only.
Differentials may be interchanged and welded for posi traction.
Differentials may not be braced or reinforced.
No axle savers.
Pinion brakes permitted.
Leaf springs may use sandwich plates 4”x2”x ¼ (2) per side of the vehicle to hold spring packs together.
Trailing arms maybe replaced with 2″x2″x1/4″ tube steel.
No dual wheel rears.
Patching and rust repair to body and/or frame will be allowed only if cleared in advance. You may be required to show before and after photos of any repairs. Please contact Ryan Fisher 570-764-5440 with any questions on this topic.

Any frame/unibody/rocker panel/body panel/ bumper/etc. may be drilled to scope inside if deemed necessary for inspection.
